On August 27, 2026, Rockstar Games released "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look", a roughly 26-minute video made entirely from in-game footage captured on PlayStation 5. Rockstar's page describes it as captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. It premiered on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET, and reached YouTube at 9 p.m. ET the same evening, according to TheWrap and GTA BOOM. Confirmed
The clearest look yet, still a pre-launch build.
Rockstar's newswire lists the piece as an official release. TheWrap's rundown says it follows the two leads, Jason and Lucia, around Vice City, with robberies, driving, character switching and leisure activities. Those are one outlet's descriptions of what was shown, not a feature list: Rockstar has not published one. Unconfirmed
The Netflix-first premiere is unusual for a game reveal, and the six-hour gap meant fans without a Netflix account could still watch free on YouTube that evening.
Not confirmed by this release: a PC version, any online mode, file size, or a third trailer. Rockstar says the footage was captured on PlayStation 5 and has not said whether that means a base console or a Pro.
For players, this is the clearest view yet of how the game is meant to play, so it is worth watching with the caveat that anything on screen is still a pre-launch build.
