GTA 6 is a purchase, not a Game Pass or PS Plus title, on every official page we opened. The free GTA+ month is a separate perk for digital pre-orders.

The short answer
GTA 6 is not announced for Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus. Confirmed It sells at $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate on both stores, and the Xbox listing does not mention Game Pass at all. The "free GTA+ month" is a different thing: a perk for digital pre-orders. Confirmed
What the official pages say

Take-Two's chief executive Strauss Zelnick said in 2024, as reported by Push Square, that the company will not put a major release on subscription services at launch. Unconfirmed We could not open the full article, so treat it as a reported position and not a current promise. Nothing since has changed the store listings.
GTA+ is not PS Plus or Game Pass
GTA+ is Rockstar's own membership. PlayStation's offer terms describe it as a GTA+ subscription offer redeemed through the PlayStation Store. They say nothing about a PS Plus tier. Confirmed

All of the PlayStation rows come from the offer terms. Confirmed The Xbox rows come from the listing, which words its cutoff as before November 19, 2026 at 23:59:59. Confirmed
Physical buyers and the GTA+ month
Take-Two says the free month is for digital pre-orders. Confirmed The physical box holds a download code and no disc. PlayStation's terms cover the digital version and do not mention physical copies. How to avoid paying for GTA+ by accident
Claim the free month without being charged
- Redeem the month from the store or Rockstar page named in your pre-order terms.
- Note the date the free month ends.
- On PlayStation, open Subscriptions Management in your account settings and cancel before the next payment date if you do not want to continue.
- Check your payment method after the month ends.
If you already have GTA+, PlayStation says the extra month can stack on your existing subscription. Confirmed
What could change
Take-Two has not ruled out adding the game to a service years after launch. That is an assumption from how older titles have been handled. Estimate No date or service is announced.
